IN MY OPINION

The Worlds Greatest Fashion Image Ever Taken

Who is it?
Jennifer Aniston

Photographer Steven Meisel

Wardrobe
Out of this world, Silver Satin Dress by Vera Wang

Diamond Jewellery by: Fred Leighton, Martin Katz, Neil Lane

Why is it the Greatest Fashion Image Ever Taken?
It captures Jennifer Aniston's magnetic allure at the peak of her career and seemingly perfect, off-screen love life, with Brad Pitt. The way her hips are dropped to her left, her hair swept over to the side with her right arm, and casually leaning on the column with her left arm giving her extra height; it's a master class in the art of subtle posing.

Study, for a moment, the flawless tailoring of the satin, Vera Wang dress. It is perfection. The satin fabric  is elevated by the luminescence of the evening light, you can almost feel that afternoon warmth. The leaves of the palm plants in the fore ground and back ground contrast with the smooth silkiness of the satin dress to give the image some visual sharpness.

It has every element a fashion photographer could ever wish for and its a moment in history that can never be repeated. After 2004, you could argue life was never quite the same for her but here, in this moment, she is like the sun in the sky; beaming and radiating confidence and femininity like no other woman on the plant.

It does what every great fashion image should do;
it makes every woman wish they were Jennifer Aniston.
